Table Tennis Psychological Skill Workshop 1 - Understand Your Mental Game
Put everything into practice through pressure-based drills and match situations. Learn how to recover after mistakes, stay present, manage nerves, adapt tactics and make effective decisions when the score, opponent or situation changes.

About the Coach
Glen Fernandes is a sport psychology researcher, Table Tennis Australia accredited Level 1 Coach, and player. He holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science and First-Class Honours in Sport, Health and Physical Activity from Flinders University and is currently completing an industry-funded PhD.
Glen has contributed to sport psychology research and youth sport research involving Netball Australia, the AFL, SANFL, Netball SA, Tennis SA and Swimming SA, including research focused on coach development, improving parent onboarding and engagement, and creating better youth sport environments. He is also a published researcher in the youth sport field, co-authoring a 2025 paper in the journal of Sport, Education and Society.
Alongside his research, Glen is Head Coach and President of the Flinders University Table Tennis Club, competes in Division 1 at Adelaide TTC, and has represented South Australia at the Australian Veterans Nationals in 2023, including captaining the SA Men’s B team in 2024 and 2025.
His coaching approach translates contemporary sport psychology research into practical, table tennis-specific training, with an emphasis on self-awareness, psychological skills, confidence, adaptability, integrating mental and physical training, and performing effectively under pressure.

Participants are highly encouraged to attend all three workshops. The sessions are designed as a connected series, with each workshop building on the concepts, skills and practical applications introduced in the previous session.
