Coaching

 

Apart from Junior group coaching (run by Kay Crowell, 0414 800 372) on Friday nights, coaching at HEATT is primarily available on a private, 1-1 basis. Some other group training / programs are run throughout the year, but timings can vary so it is best to either keep an eye out on the website/social media for these events or contact us for more information.

Table Tennis Coaching: 5 years – TTA Tops Coach with a Diploma in Training & Assessment (TAFE SA). Fluent in English & offers very economical rates.

First picked up a bat at age 42 and made State League from nothing within 3 years (Top player awards Div 3 & 2), playing State League & representing SA since then.
National Gold in Teams Veterans & Singles at National Masters. Represented Australia in 2018. Coached by 3 Olympians with many titles & students with State & National success.

  • Coaching students from age 10 till 95 with all abilities able & disabled (social, competition & high performance), with match-day support (3-star DHS 40+ balls) and a high ball frequency rate

  • Availability: weekends & nights – some occasional due to full-time employment

  • Tailored coaching plans for individual needs, specialising in 1-to-1 sessions from strategies, structured drills, gameplay, tactics, technical applications, feedback, freestyle, physical conditioning, encouragement, goals, mental resilience & philosophies



Kevin Rogers
Style: First get technique right, then consistency. There is no point in consistently doing the wrong thing. Increased spin and speed will follow.

Focus Areas:
Stroke mechanics, footwork, serve/receive, multi-ball, wide variety of drills. Incorporate consistency targets and games into training drills. Learn all aspects of the game including looping and chopping. Playing against funny rubbers like long pips, anti-spin and short pips.

Best For:
Players wanting clear instruction and steady, measurable improvement. Adult and junior players from beginners to medium club level.

Philosophy:
I enjoy helping others improve. Improving is enjoyable and satisfying.

Availability:
Afternoons most days. Monday and Wednesday nights when competition is not on.
